In support of ERiT – The Education Reform and Innovation Team
In pursuance of our agenda to improve quality of education for all children across every state in Nigeria, Arc-Lights Foundation is excited to be a part of the Education Reform and Innovation Team (ERIT) to bring about state-wide reform through the Abia Fostering Innovation, Reviving Standards, and Transforming Education (Abia First) project.
Abia FIRST initiative is a bold and visionary program led by ERiT under the visionary leadership of the Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Gov. Alex Otti . This transformative effort was designed to reshape the landscape of basic education across the state. Through this intervention, ERIT is training 200 Lead Master Trainers, 2,000 Master Trainers,
who will in turn cascade the knowledge to over 13,000 teachers, covering 1,200 public schools in the state. This reform is comprehensive, covering early years to senior secondary classes.
As an organisation, Arc-Lights Foundation is leading the ERIT Team that is leading the school transformation at the ECCDE level in Abia State. Our work cuts across leadership training, teacher capacity development, curriculum and learning content development, lesson planning as well as development of data-driven and culturally appropriate digital learning content. Furthermore, through ERIT, we are ensuring school and classroom infrastructure remodelling and upgrade.
At the heart of this movement was ERiT’s commitment to raising education standards, inspiring systemic change, and reimagining what quality learning environments could look like in public schools. Arc-Lights Foundation partnered with ERiT to implement the School Transformation component of the initiative, providing technical support and hands-on execution in the upgrade of several public schools.
